Real
Estate License Act (TRELA), Chapter 1101,
Texas Occupations Code Section 1101.003, and the
Rules
of the Texas Real Estate Commission, Section
535.62(f).
Mandatory Courses
Principles 1(P1) TREC
#0111—In this first introductory
course to Real Estate the student will be
introduced to various Real Estate topics such
as: Estates, Transfers and Titles, Encumbrances,
Agency and its responsibility, Contracts, The
Real Estate License Act, and Fair Housing Laws.
Principles II (PII)TREC
#0112—This second introductory course
will complete the basic training for the student
with studies in Landlord and Tenant, Property
Management, Escrow, Title Insurance and
Settlement, and Real Estate Finance.
Law of Contracts (LC)TREC
#1200—This course will cover the
elements of contracts; offer and acceptance;
statute of frauds; remedies for breach,
including specific performance; unauthorized
practice of law; commission rules relating to
use of adopted forms; and owner disclosure
requirements.
Law of Agency (LA)TREC
#1111— This course will give the
student a fundamental understand of the
relationship between a principal and an agent;
an agent’s authority; the termination of an
agent’s authority; an agent’s duties, including
fiduciary duties; employment law; deceptive
trade practices; listing or buying
representation procedures; and the disclosure of
agency.

Real Estate Finance (REF)TREC
#0411—This course will provide the
understanding of real estate finance terms, the
fundamentals of the banking/lending system, laws
related to real estate financing in Texas, loan
plans, lending instruments, title transfer
documents, and laws related to financing real
estate and fraudulent and discriminatory
practices in lending.
Property Management (PM)TREC
#0811— This course will give the
student an understand of the fundamentals of
property management, the roles of the property
manager, understand property and market
analysis, owner and tenant relations, leases and
lease negotiations, maintenance and
construction, federal and state laws,
differences between residential, office, retail
and industrial properties, specialized housing
and risk and environmental issues.
Basic Appraisal
Practices (AP)TREC #0211— This course
introduces generally accepted appraisal
methodology and provides detailed examples as to
how this methodology as applied to a single
family residence. The course is designed to
cover all the basic appraisal procedures and
practical information needed to perform an
acceptable residential appraisal on the Uniform
Residential Appraisal Report (URAR) and the
Exterior-Only Inspection Residential Appraisal
Report.
GRI 1, 2, 3—Texas
Association of REALTORS new agents designation
courses. This course is only available as SAE
hours.
Exam Prep (EP)-
Participation in this 8-hour course will prepare
the student to take the Salesperson Real Estate
Exam. This course is not for credit only to
prepare the student for the exam.
